About Clyde Hill:

Clyde Hill is a city located in the Eastside, an affluent region of King County, Washington and part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The city is surrounded by the extremely wealthy suburbs of Medina to the west, Hunts Point to the northwest, Yarrow Point to the north, and Kirkland to the northeast, while the satellite city of Bellevue is located to the east and south. Lake Washington is also nearby, providing a physical barrier between Clyde Hill and Seattle. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,890.

Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Clyde Hill ranks 3rd of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.

Clyde Hill is located at 47°37'49" North, 122°12'60" West (47.630171, -122.216559).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.7 km2 (1.1 mi2). 2.7 km2 (1.1 mi2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Clyde Hill Demographics:

As of the census of 2000, there are 2,890 people, 1,054 households, and 893 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,052.7/km2 (2,732.2/mi2). There are 1,076 housing units at an average density of 391.9/km2 (1,017.2/mi2). The racial makeup of the city is 89.62% White, 0.55% African American, 0.17% Native American, 7.30% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.59% from other races, and 1.76% from two or more races. 1.49% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,054 households out of which 34.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 78.3% are married couples living together, 5.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 15.2% are non-families. 12.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.74 and the average family size is 3.00.

In the city the population is spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 20.3% from 25 to 44, 30.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 45 years. For every 100 females there are 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $132,468, and the median income for a family is $150,237. Males have a median income of $100,000 versus $50,909 for females. The per capita income for the city is $78,252. 0.8% of the population and 0.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.4% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
